Harry Reid’s Koch-Addled Asininity Debunked Here — 21 Months Ago

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2014/03/13

That’s right, folks. Harry Reid’s Koch-addled asininity was debunked here, a full 21 months before his rectological rectory on the Senate Floor.

Let me give you a chart from those 21 months ago:

All-Time Top Contributors updated 2012

With Unions pushing that much money around, Dingy Harry has the gall to claim the Koch Brothers (who are Libertarians and not Conservatives) are the biggest danger and biggest source of outside money? He could’ve just come to my site and done a little research before looking stupid. But then again, he’s too stupid to actually, you know, do any research.

Want more information on where Unions stand in political spending, such as rankings?

From 21 months ago:

3. Public Employee Union
5. Public Employee Union
7. Public Employee Union
9. Union
10. Public Employee Union
11. Union
12. Union (that I was a forced member of, twice)
13. Union
14. union
17. Union
18. Union
20. Union
29. Union
30. group of Unions

14 of the top 30 biggest political spenders are all Unions, and yet, Unions represent less than 12 percent of the workforce. But the Union spending doesn’t stop there.

59. Union
65. Union
75. Union
85. Union
117. Union
119. Union
128. Union
133. Union

Oh, and I had information on the Koch Brothers back then, too.

Again, since 1989, Unions have spent 667.3 million (over 2/3 of a billion) dollars on politics. How much has the Left’s bogeyman, the Koch brothers, spent? A paltry 12.7 million dollars. So, next time some radical Leftist complains about the Koch brothers, remind that person that Unions are outspending the Koch brothers nearly 55 to 1. And while you’re at it, remind them that Unions are outspending their representative proportion more than 2 to 1.

By the way, those evil Koch Brothers tried to influence me once. One of the political type organizations they’re tied to sent me an email talking about the successful recovery of a community that rejected Federal aid and the floundering of another community that took the aid. I didn’t write about it because I was too lazy to do so, not because the Koch’s are evil (which they clearly are not).

So, the continued hate-filled attacks on Libertarians Who Provide Jobs To The Middle Class are all the Socialist, Fascist, Statist Democrats have to try to scare people into a serf-state.

It didn’t take gobs of research to destroy Hairy Reed’s demagoguery which took place this week on the Senate Floor. All it took was looking up an article I wrote 21 months before the Hairy logorrhea.

You’re welcome.

The Outsized Political Might Of Unions

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2012/06/09

Public Employee Unions and private sector Unions have far too much political influence compared to their size. And that political influence is bought through the forced Union dues paid by many people who are diametrically opposed to the political goals of those Unions, like the Ohio teacher who had her Union dues spent to fight her husband’s political candidacy. Her husband won the election, despite the Ohio Education Association stealing her money and then using that ill gotten booty to attack her husband.

Here are Jade Thompson’s own words:

Teachers should be free to spend their hard-earned dollars to contribute to the candidates and causes they actually support. The OEA and its parent organization, the NEA, refuse to acquiesce because they have an obvious agenda. After all, as the general counsel for the NEA once said in federal court, “if you take away payroll deduction, you won’t collect a penny from these people, and it has nothing to do with voluntary or involuntary. I think it has to do with the nature of the beast, and the beasts who are our teachers … (They) simply don’t come up with the money regardless of the purpose.” Teachers, this is what your union thinks of you.

Do Unions forcibly take Union dues away from people who do not want to be in the Unions? Yes, they do. Do those same Unions then spend those Union dollars on political campaigns many of their members vehemently oppose? Yes, they do. And it’s sinful and tyrannical.

Now, how big are the unions? Not very big when compared to the rest of the people. The Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics spells it out rather clearly in its January, 2012 summary.

In 2011, the union membership rate–the percent of wage and salary workers who were members of a union–was 11.8 percent, essentially unchanged from 11.9 percent in 2010, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The number of wage and salary workers belonging to unions, at 14.8 million, also showed little movement over the year. In 1983, the first year for which comparable union data are available, the union membership rate was 20.1 percent and there were 17.7 million union workers.

So, less than 12 percent of America’s workers are members of Unions (and I already pointed out that many of those Union members are unwilling members but were forced to be members against their will). But the news for the American public is much worse than that. A reasonable person would tend to believe there are more private sector Union members than public sector Union members simply because there are vastly more private sector jobs than public sector jobs. That reasonable person would be grossly in error.

From the same Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics report comes the data. Of the 14.8 million Union members, representing a mere 11.8 percent of the workforce, 7.2 million are in private sector Unions while 7.6 million are in public sector Unions. 51.4 percent of all Union members have public sector jobs while only 48.6 percent of all Union members work for businesses. That means Public Employee Unions represent 6.06 percent of all people in the workforce, or barely over 1 in 20 employees. And yet, as the chart on the right, from Open Secrets, shows, Public Employee Unions are among the absolute biggest political spenders in the nation. And they’re almost monolithic in their support for the Democrat Party (as opposed to businesses, which are far more balanced in their political spending, and spend far less money in politics). The top 4 highlighted groups on that chart are Public Employee Unions, and the 5th highlighted one is a group of Unions that contain both PEUs and private sector Unions. That, alone, would show an over-stated position of political power compared to their relatively small size.

But this isn’t about just the Public Employee Unions. It’s about all the Unions. So take a look at that chart of the biggest political spenders again.

65. Union
75. Union
85. Union
117. Union
119. Union
128. Union
133. Union

For Unions to be proportionately representative, they would need to have only 15 of the top 140 biggest political spenders, and yet they have 14 of the top 30 and 15 of the top 40! Unions represent 29 of the top 140 biggest political spenders, or just over 20 percent. From 1989 to present, Unions in the top 140 biggest political spenders have spent a combined 667,321,417 dollars on politics, and almost monolithically Democrat/Leftist politics. The top 140 spent a combined 2,367,159,046 dollars on politics in that time period, meaning Unions spent 28.2 percent of the political money of the top 140, far in excess of their proportionate representation, even considering Unions’ 21 percent representation in 1983 (which has been steadily falling since then).

Oh, by the way, that great evil, FOX News? Its parent company is on the list, at number 81, with 51 percent of its political money going to Democrats and only 48 percent going to Republicans. But in Liberal la-la land, that means they’re in the tank for Republicans.

MSNBC Lied, As Usual

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2012/04/24

And a CBS reporter did her due diligence.

Sharyl Atkisson, left, and Katy Conrad, right, are two CBS reporters who have dared to seek out the truth, despite their bosses’ desire to push the Liberal agenda.

Everyone who is even remotely aware of the Truth knows that MSNBC is chock full of lies, servicing the radical Leftist agenda. Well, MSNBC lied about the Leftists’ current favorite bogeyman, the Koch Brothers and Koch Industries. Because the radical Left needs a bogeyman, even when they (always) have to lie about said bogeyman. CBS reporter Katy Conrad did her due diligence: she contacted Koch Industries. That makes her an anomaly in the radical Leftist mainstream media. And that makes her a pariah with the Obama administration and the Democrat power-brokers. Just like her CBS colleague, another woman, who is busily unearthing the criminal corruption that has cost hundreds of human lives that is known as Fast and Furious, and is being yelled at and censured as a result of her desire to unearth and report the facts.

In related news, the tax-payer funded and wholly Leftist media organization NPR completely neglected to report that someone feeding it information was very closely tied to a radically Leftist organization. But that’s a “dog bites man” story, since it is SOP for NPR to hide those exculpatory facts.

You want the truth? If you’re a radical Leftist, you can’t handle the truth!

Political Campaign Money: Correcting The Liberal Lie

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2011/10/13

Liberals love to spread the lie that Big Business is buying elections for Republicans. Liberals love to spread the lie that the Koch brothers are buying elections for Republicans, suggesting Democrats don’t stand a chance, what with all that “evil Right-Wing” money pouring in. But the lie is easily fixed by taking a quick trip over to Open Secrets and looking at the top 140 donors list.

I broke down that list into 10 different mutually exclusive subsets (with some on the list not falling into any of the 10 subsets), based on the percentage of money given.

90 percent or more to Democrats — 21, with the top 2 and 4 of the top 10 ranked donors
80 to 89 percent to Democrats — 12, with 3 of the top 10 and 5 of the top 12 ranked donors
70 to 79 percent to Democrats — 6, the top donor ranked 5th
60 to 69 percent to Democrats — 5, the top donor ranked 25th
50 to 59 percent to Democrats — 15

90 percent or more to Republicans — 3, the top donor ranked 70th
80 to 89 percent to Republicans — 6, the top donor ranked 30th
70 to 79 percent to Republicans — 10, the top donor ranked 23rd
60 to 69 percent to Republicans — 26, the top donor ranked 17th
50 to 59 percent to Republicans — 34

Where do those “evil” Koch brothers — who are Libertarian and not Conservative — fit in? Koch Industries is ranked 82nd, with 88 percent to Republicans and 11 percent to Democrats.

Once again, the easily-found facts defeat the Liberal lie, which is why Liberals need people to be ignorant of the facts in order for Liberals to win elections.

Janeane Garofalo, Racist Sexist Anti-Christian Pig And Conspiracy Theorist

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2011/08/19

Janeane Garofalo appeared on Keith Olbermann’s Countdown show on the Al Gore-owned microscopic-market cable station Current TV and went way off the radical Leftist deep end. You have to see the video to believe the absolute rantings of that bat-guano crazy lunatic. And of course, Olbermann, in his bat-guano crazy lunatic fashion, agreed with her.

Garofalo accused all Conservative women of possibly having a mental defect (Stockholm Syndrome) merely because those women are Conservative. Stockholm Syndrome, or self-loathing, or whatever other “they’re off the Leftist reservation” language she could drudge up. According to Garofalo, no woman can be Conservative or Republican and be wholly sane. In other words, women cannot make up their own minds for themselves; they need tenders to tell them what to think and how to believe.

Garofalo also accused all Republicans and Conservatives of raaaaacism merely because they are Republicans and Conservatives. She went further and claimed Herman Cain could have Stockholm Syndrome because he is a black man in the TEA Party. Oh, and he’s the “token black man”. Where have we heard that before? Oh yes, out of the mouths of many a radical Leftist. Once again, black people are not allowed to have a free mind. Black people absolutely have to be Democrats and Liberals, else they’re mentally deficient “tokens” to be used by the supposedly raaaaacist Republicans and Conservatives.

And if Cain is actually sane, then he was paid behind the scenes to do a TEA Party shtick because of course, Cain is one of those evil businessmen and that’s what businessmen do: reject ethics and moral code just to take money from others. And who could’ve paid Cain off to run on the TEA Party platform in the Republican Presidential Primary? Why, Karl Rove, who helped George W Bush thumb his nose at the Conservative wing of the Republican Party for eight long years and for whom the TEA Party holds very little (if any) respect. Nevermind a quick google which would bring up a May 23 Daily Caller article showing Rove isn’t all that high on Cain.

Of course, Garofalo also had to throw out the Koch brothers as possible backroom Sambo-buyers since no self-respecting black man would ever have a mind of his own and be Conservative due to principle, blah de blah de blah. Nevermind the Socialist George Soros’ political spending massively dwarfs any money the Kochs spend. Nevermind the various Public Employee Unions’ political spending massively dwarfs any money the Kochs spend. Nevermind a large number of Unions’ political spending massively dwarfs any money the Kochs spend. Koch Industries is 86th on the Top All-Time Donors list (1989-2010) while at least 25 Unions are higher. Furthermore, Koch Industries spent 11 percent of its political money on Democrats while the vast majority of Unions spent less than 7 percent of their political money on Republicans. So that whole radical Leftist “the Koch brothers are buying elections for Republicans” lie goes down the rat hole as soon as the facts are laid bare.

Of course, Garofalo adds in the radical Leftist lie about Conservative astroturf. You know, like that whole top-down, centralized Coffee Party reaction to the grass-roots TEA Party. Oops, the Coffee Party is a failed radical Leftist astroturf mechanism. Well then, like the “Crash the Tea Party” movement created by a teacher, whose intent was to infiltrate the TEA Party and make all manner of objectionable signs and statements to malign the TEA Party with all manner of lies. Oops, another failed radical Leftist attempt at astroturf and lies. Oh, by the way, that teacher got fired for doing his thing on school time using school equipment. Hunh, seems like all the astroturf lies (and astroturf is lying) are coming from the radical Leftists. Imagine that. It’s not like a Liberal to lie. Or is it?

Of course, as Allahpundit notes, Garofalo has a very long history of racist loggorhea.

She’s quite serious, which makes this clip blogworthy even though it’s just the latest in a long, long, long line of paint-by-numbers racial demagoguery from Garofalo on Olbermann’s show. Even the core criticism is recycled. Remember when she made the same charges about “Stockholm syndrome” and tea-party tokenism against Clarence Thomas a few months ago? You can see her roots as a comic in these segments — they’re essentially just “bits” in which she runs through her routine, the emcee grunts with approval, and the liberal audience cheers in appreciation of an old performer whom they think fondly of. She’s basically the Bob Hope of brainless left-wing race-baiters.

Those in the know, know the true history of racism and how it’s tied to the Liberal Democrats. Those in the know, know the true history of the KKK and how it was founded as the Republican-assassinating, racist, terrorist wing of the Democrat Party.

HT Arlenearmy (a supposed Stockholm Syndrome victim twice over) for the video.

While the radical fringe like Garofalo and Olbermann want to silence and malign Conservatives of all stripes, I want the lunatic fringe Leftists to keep talking. There’s a reason the vast majority of American voters distrust “Old Media.” And, with “New Media” such as this blog, people can find the truth unfiltered by radical Leftist old media such as MSNBC and Newsweek. Liberals tried to malign everything Conservative, the TEA Party especially, in 2009 and 2010. And I thank them for doing so, because Liberals helped the 2010 elections turn out the way they did — over 700 Republicans and Conservatives took previously held Democrat seats in State Legislatures, Governorships, US Congress in a Conservative and Republican wave not seen in over 70 years, a Republican outcome not seen since the 1870s in some states. Yes, the hate-filled Left and their demand that women stay in the Liberal kitchen and blacks stay on the Liberal plantation helped cause the 2010 election results. And this is partly why Liberals hate the absolute nature of the First Amendment. It’s very hard to silence your political enemies when the First Amendment’s absolute language is held to be, in fact, part of the Supreme Law of the Land.
