ObamaCare: But … I didn’t think it would be like this

Posted by DNW on 2013/10/28

Come my Children.

You who are weary of the burden of the self. You who would be free of the burdens of striving and worry.

I demand only one thing.

And that is everything.

Health Care for All

Health Care for All

“But how come I can’t keep my old insurance like you promised!???”

Tiberius as often as he left the Senate-House used to exclaim in Greek, “How ready these men are to be slaves.” Clearly, even he, with his dislike of public freedom, was disgusted at the abject abasement of his creatures …

the arrogant bold lying then flippantly shrugging it off is chilling.

we now have savages stirring to action amongst us. I don’t think this gets better until it gets far uglier. batton down the hatches.

You are right. They are moral savages: mere bundles of urges they cannot and now will not try to defend on first principles.

The left has ceased paying even lip service to the truth. Catch them in a lie and they shrug.

They lie knowing that a large minority of people will immediately detect that they are lying as they speak. But they are indifferent to being known as liars as long as their mindless and morally deconstructed political clients don’t care.

They no any longer even pretend any interest in freedom, defined as self-direction and self-governance.

They no longer pretend that their programs of governmental control and direction are distributively neutral. Equality before the law after all, never has been, and is now of, absolutely no interest to a leftist. But there was a time when they were forced to hide it, and to claim that that is what they did want.

And now, they, people like Perry Hood “our friend on the left” as Dana was wont to say, want to charge men like Senator Ted Cruz of Texas with sedition for exercising his rights and his duties to his constituents as an elected legislator.

In the modern liberal, we really are confronted by a class of nihilistic primates that recognize no interpersonal or moral limits to their behavior. They never stop transgressing, or seeking to take a bit out of you.

They can’t be reasoned with as to principles: only frightened with the likely cost to themselves should they pursue some end.

How in fact do you morally reason with a thing that disbelieves in truth, and recognizes no intrinsic limits or ends? How do you negotiate with a thing that sees you as a meal, or as a beast of burden?

It’s almost as if modern liberals are in fact, merely some kind of fleshy automata; just as their more radically reductionist materialist philosophers like to suggest all men are.

It’s almost as if they have an innate disposition that leads them to crave pushing a situation to the point that it results in violence.

It’s almost as if we are dealing with a mindset that sees the collective as god, appetite as his holy and unquestionable word, politics as religion, and homicide as the highest sacrament in their war against the “individual”.

Except, that it isn’t “almost as if” …
