"Freedom". It's an obsolete word the meaning of which is obscure to us.

The "Constitution" you say?

The “Constitution” you say?

Pay for our own what?

Pay for our own what?

There is no part of the constitution that says anything you don’t like is automatically unconstitutional.

No, the Constitution in fact says nothing about my particular likes; just my rights as a citizen of Federal Republic.

Naturally so, as it was primarily designed as a plan of Federal, not totalitarian, Government.

Doubtless it never crossed many naive advocates’ minds that some citizens would dare try and hijack it in order to hang their noxious albatross lives around the necks of other citizens; by manipulating and reinterpreting that plan of Federal Government with the powers of a consolidated government, and further imbuing it with the power to command virtually anyone to do anything for any reason. [Which is of course the position in principle admitted to and advanced by some such as our sister site’s one time commentator and unabashed activist and political “progressive”, Perry Hood.]

Others of course, at the time of the ratification, the Anti-Federalists, and constitutional ratification debate commenter Brutus in particular, more clearly saw the potential for some citizens trying to offload their personal burdens upon, or gain control over the lives of their fellow citizens, through the twisting of certain passages in the proposed Constitution.

If it were not for these skeptics we would not even have a bill of rights, now would we.

But of course, when a law has been as flimsily predicated and duplicitously enacted as Obama Care has been, it can just as easily be disregarded as anything resembling the reflection of a just moral or social claim or as constituting a respect-worthy law.

All the baying hounds of the left really have, I think you would agree, is an argument from force …
