This is worse than being slowly tortured in the middle ages. Stock up folks.

People have to start drawing some lines, and the place to start may be among those “near” to us.

How many of us, myself included, temporize with those sort of, kind of, distant family relations we don’t have any use for anyway. Revealed through time as slovens, or lefties, they’ve degenerated into complacent fodder for the left or are even more openly complicit in the program of destroying our heritage of liberty.

You want to look that cousin’s husband in the eye and say, “Look you stolid, inhospitable, pot-bellied couch potato, you and your knocked up daughter and druggie son are part of the reason we face the problems we do.” But we don’t because it would be cruel to the stupid; even though they don’t seem all that stupid when it comes to feathering their nests comfortably.

Or, at a cocktail/Christmas/whatever party when an in-law’s professor (or community college instructor) spouse starts ranting about evil Republicans, we try to reason with them; when they are in fact plainly interested in nothing more than using the social setting for the psycho-sexual release they gain through publicly discharging bile into a crowd.

But conservatives, unlike liberals are loathe to “cut people dead” as folks used to say. Conservatives are taught in Church and by their parents that it is wrong. Liberals on the other hand are taught that publicly turning your back to someone socially is a glorious rite of passage and a way of proving how special we liberals are.

Even we have limits though. A few years ago, I finally put an end to the charity ward deer camp program I was unintentionally running. Thousands in land taxes and up-keep to provide that space, programmatic assaults on everyone’s second amendment rights in the news nightly, everything, virtually, a fight to preserve, and my own tenderhearted relatives were somehow finding hapless, ungrateful, clueless “nice guys” to include in; because ah you know, they’re nice guys who don’t have all that much and would really like the experience.

Well, they turn out not to be much motivated as hunters. “Not many deer” he says, expelling a lung full of cigarette smoke, while sitting at the cabin table at 10:00 in the morning. “No, not in here” I say.

    Ok. Maybe they’re great conversationalists.

NRA, “Huh?” Silveira v. Lockyer, “Huh”? The last election. “Politicians, they’re all the same. It doesn’t matter who’s in. Voting’s a waste of time”

F8ck ’em. If they’re not allies, if they won’t stand up with you, they’re just a distraction and drain on your energy: a demoralizing subversive influence. They’d probably be the first to loot your house in time of disaster anyway.

omg! mr aotc and i had this talk yesterday…. he said.. “i know you feel bad about [distant relatives, friends, that don t love us back, mock our worldview, and have those dead eyes.. so to speak, (dead eyes! lol) etc, etc,] but.. it’s ok to write some people off”.

he went on… “we cant know the creator’s arrangements with other people, but we are certainly given free choice by the same creator to curtail OUR arrangements with them., and sometimes it’s prudent to do so.”

i am fortunate to have an amazing husband and a tight immediate family that share a common worldview. mom and dad bound us up as family. what a wonderful gift. the rest of them can go pound salt.
