Another Dem Senator On The Ropes?

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2010/03/19

I previously reported Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer is in danger of losing her seat. Three different Republican candidates are within striking range of her, with the left-leaning former Congressman Tom Campbell in a statistical dead-heat (Boxer leads Campbell 43-41 in the polls). New polling information is even more troubling for Democrats.

Incumbent Senator Russ Feingold, previously considered a near-lock for re-election, is now in trouble. Former governor Tommy Thompson is now in a statistical dead-heat with the Wisconsin Democrat. Thompson has not even declared he is running for the Senate and yet, he holds a 49-47 advantage over Feingold (a statistical dead-heat). With this information, I expect Thompson to enter the race and at least one of the other two major Republican candidates to withdraw.

And, as Thompson is very popular in Wisconsin, Feingold could quite well go down. It is looking more and more like the Democrats, with a previously filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and a 77-seat majority in the House, will lose the majority in both Houses of Congress. And Democrats cannot blame anyone but themselves for this massive change.

Except for FOX News and the rare person leaving the plantation (thanks, Jake Tapper), nearly all of MSM has been Obama- and Democrat-sycophants, unlike the GWB years, when nearly all of MSM had a massive case of BDS in support of Democrats. So, this total flip in Congressional leadership can be placed totally on the heads of the Democrat leadership and rank-and-file.

It is very clear the American public does not want what the Executive Branch is trying to force on the country. It is very clear the American public does not want what the Democrat leadership of the Legislative Branch is trying to force on the country. But no Democrats in leadership care one whit what the American public wants.

Joe Bidenism And Accidental Honesty

Posted by John Hitchcock on 2010/03/19

From ABC News:

BIDEN: Well, I’m telling them two things. One is that, look, this is going to be something when the American people realize — once it’s passed — that, A, it does take care of preexisting conditions; B, you’re insurance rates aren’t going to skyrocket; C, the insurance companies aren’t going to be running the show like they were before; D, you’re going to be in a position where you can keep your insurance that you have.

Emphasis mine to show the two(?) things.

I assured them, and this will not allow you to take any subsidized government money you get and say, with that money I’m going to go now I can go purchase an insurance plan that provides for abortions. The principle is intact.

Obviously, Biden has not read the bill that is currently on the table. Or, Biden is lying out his butt because his mouth knows better.

And the piece de resistance, which is the accidental honesty:

You know we’re going to control the insurance companies.

Now, is there any question that the government according to Barack and the Democrat leadership has as its goal the absolute control of your health care? On top of that, the House leadership is trying to use the totally unconstitutional “Slaughter Rule” for a “we deem it passed without voting on it” end-around.

Not only that, but the House is trying to add a government takeover of post-secondary schools as part of their “Slaughter Rule” unconstitutionality.

Biden is, without a doubt, the absolute most dense veep ever to hold that office. And even when he’s being a dishonest and absolute lackey for the government takeover of all manner of liberty, he’s so dense he lets the truth out. This has been the most power-grabbing administration and congress since FDR, and arguably orders of magnitude more power-grabbing than FDR.

UPDATE: An Irrefutable Argument (Two, Actually) Against the Slaughter Rule and ObamaCare
