Is Obama ‘Dangerously Close To Totalitarianism’?
Posted by Yorkshire on 6 April 2012, 9:56 pm

To me, before the 2008 election it was clear as day at what BO would be. You can ask Gretchen, Eric and the Editor on the First Street Journal that I have alluded one way or another to what is in this editorial. All I needed to know about BO was a Community Activist, a Marxist lover, Revvum Wright, his Hawaiian Communist Mentor “George”, ACORN, the friends and professors in college had to be radical, Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, his illegal visit to Pakistan (which is now believed to be on a Brit Passport via Kenya), no background, no friends speaking up, school papers sealed and what he told Joe the Plumber. What more did I need???? And 95% of this was known before the election. I told this to two campaigners for BO in Oct, 2008. This information was readily known in his books. And finally, he had no executive training or experience.

Truer Today Than in 1948 – …. isms

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/03/18

This animated production was made in 1948 concerning the creeping stealing of rights. Incrementally it has been done. It’s like a drip in a 55 gallon drum. One drop means virtually nothing, but eventually that drum will be filled and it will overflow. Or it’s been like boiling frogs. Put a few frogs in a pot of cold water and very slowly raise the heat under the pot to the point where the frogs don’t notice it, but by the time they do, they’re boiled. We’ve seen this in the last few weeks where a few words in legislation the majority did not want, is trying to strip first Amendment rights away from us. All of this has been going on since President Wilson, then pulled back, then President FDR, and half pulled back, and it seems each President has been taking a little bit here, a little bit there until we’re close to being the boiled frog. This animation is truer today than it was in 1948. “Make Mine FREEDOM”

By a Fluke, This Was A Manufactured Crisis Meant to Distract From Gas, Unemployment, and BO’s Dismal Record

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/03/08

Dig and you find the Fluke debacle is a Manufactured Distraction (Excerpts from the Fluke Open Thread)
York
Anyone who believes all that bile is a useful idiot for the Puppet Master, Soros. Let’s face it, Fluke is a manufactured crisis to distract the Proles from reality that Unemployment is back up to 9.1% – reality 15%, gas is $4 before the election instead of afterwards, price of goods are climbing, the Muddled East is ready to go nuclear along with the want of the fools there to eliminate Israel, Syria is a powderkeg, and the world is fixated on Fluck’s Fluckin Vagina. Can we spell distraction????
ropelight says: In response

York, since I regard George Soros as a prominent useful idiot and one already marked for early execution following the communist takeover, it seems I failed to make myself clear.
Here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia on the topic: (indicates my added comments)

In political jargon, useful idiot is a pejorative term used to describe people perceived as propagandists for a cause whose goals they do not understand, who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause. (and who face summary execution once their immediate utility has expired)
The term was originally used to describe Soviet sympathizers in Western countries. The implication is that although the people in question naïvely thought of themselves as an ally of the Soviet Union, they were actually held in contempt and were being cynically used.
The use of the term in political discourse has since been extended to other propagandists, especially those who are seen to unwittingly support a malignant cause which they naively believe to be a force for good…
A similar term, “useful innocents”, is used in Austrian-American economist Ludwig von Mises’ “Planned Chaos”. Von Mises claims the term was used by communists for liberals that von Mises describes as “confused and misguided sympathizers”.
Modern usage: the term has been used by some commentators to describe people the commentators believe are effectively supporting Islamic terrorism by favouring an approach based on appeasement. Anthony Browne wrote in the British newspaper, The Times:
Elements within the British establishment were notoriously sympathetic to Hitler. Today the Islamists enjoy similar support. In the 1930s it was Edward VIII, aristocrats and the Daily Mail; this time it is left-wing activists, The Guardian and sections of the BBC. They may not want a global theocracy, but they are like the West’s apologists for the Soviet Union — useful idiots.
A 2010 BBC radio documentary lists among useful idiots of Joseph Stalin several prominent British writers including H. G. Wells and Doris Lessing, the Irish writer George Bernard Shaw, and the American journalist Walter Duranty and the
singer Paul Robeson.

York, I don’t disagree that Sandra Fluke is a manufactured distraction, but she’s only a mere pawn in the game insufficiently important to rate a footnote except as a current example of one of the organized Left’s standard tactics employed by useful idiots to deflect attention away from damaging revelations such as you listed above.

“By what you are also doing here, change the subject to a distraction.”

Uh-huh. So in an open thread about a young woman who was called a “slut” and a “prostitute” by Rush Limbaugh, in response to people claiming conspiracies involving George Soros and Nancy Pelosi, asking how exactly these people made Limbaugh do anything is a “distraction”?
Do you even listen to your own words these days?

What words by Limbaugh are just a reaction to the absurdidy of the whole situation. It’s what happens when you look at the 200 ft level view of things. You certainly miss the 20,000 ft view of the situation. It’s like the debate where George Stephonopolis brought up contraception in the debate. Everyone of the candidates looked at this as a question from Left Field. Why was it asked? Now we know why. It was the Libs/Socialists 20,000 ft view to lead to distraction as I pointed out above. With Pelosi involved and others, it all makes sense now. It’s easier to get the proles thinking of sex and distract them from $3.999 per gallon of gas. It also distracts from 9.1% (really near 15%) unemployment. It’s like old Rome where there was Bread, the Circus and the Gladiators to distract from the reality Rome was becoming unraveled. Well, a lot of people have caught on to the distraction. If you want to keep on talking about Rush and all those horrible people on the Right, just go ahead with your own perverted follies.

1984

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/02/10

Personal note, the book was published a week and a few days after I was born, FWIW. I read this in High School (mid 60′s) and saw it was alive and well in the Communist Countries. Then later on it seemed to creep into western Europe and kept moving westward to here. As far as the term “New Speak”, well call that POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. As far as eternal Wars, in one way or another it’s been all my life. When one hot spot was quelled, another showed up. If the wars didn’t include us, there were more than enough to fill in before we got activated again. During Viet-Nam, I was A+ on the Draft list. Escaped that by being in the reserves. Johnson assured us of fill-ins with the war on drugs. The Muddled East has provided non-stop action along with Africa.

The the king of all American wars since the book was written is the never ending war on terror. Now what do we have, street surveillence, traffic cams (double duty), Computerization of health records, an enemy’s list, practically strip searches at airports, this monstrosity of government healthcare to control us, recording of license plates to track our moves, about 100 federal police agencies, spying domestic and foreign, reading of emails and blogs. What’s next?

Nineteen Eighty-Four

(first published in 1949) by George Orwell is a dystopian novel about Oceania, a society ruled by the oligarchical dictatorship of the Party. Life in the Oceanian province of Airstrip One is a world of perpetual war, pervasive government surveillance, and incessant public mind control, accomplished with a political system euphemistically named English Socialism (Ingsoc), which is administrated by a privileged Inner Party elite.

Yet they too are subordinated to the totalitarian cult of personality of Big Brother, the deified Party leader who rules with a philosophy that decries individuality and reason as thoughtcrimes; thus the people of Oceania are subordinated to a supposed collective greater good. The protagonist, Winston Smith, is a member of the Outer Party who works for the Ministry of Truth (Minitrue), which is responsible for propaganda and historical revisionism. His job is to re-write past newspaper articles so that the historical record is congruent with the current party ideology. Because of the childhood trauma of the destruction of his family — the disappearances of his parents and sister — Winston Smith secretly hates the Party, and dreams of rebellion against Big Brother.

As literary political fiction and as dystopian science-fiction, Nineteen Eighty-Four is a classic novel in content, plot, and style. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, Newspeak, and memory hole, have become contemporary vernacular since its publication in 1949. Moreover, Nineteen Eighty-Four popularised the adjective Orwellian, which refers to official deception, secret surveillance, and manipulation of the past in service to a totalitarian or manipulative political agenda.

Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals”

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/01/30

Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” explained Posted by Yorkshire on 30 January 2012, 10:50 pm

If we really remember the 2008 campaign with Hillary and Obama the Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky would creep into the Campaign. For the last week or so, the Name Saul Alinsky has come up. Who was Alinsky? Progressives will tell you he’s great. Conservatives will tell you Barack Obama is the Poster Child for these rules. I would say just in the last few days Romney has employed Rule 13 on Gingrich, with success. Also in 2008 from the Hillary camp we heard and saw this rule in action: 13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Romney is using it, and for Radicals and Progressives relish Rule #5: 5. Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. I think we have seen some of this here on the Blog.

Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” explained
Union organizers are often highly trained. In many unions this training includes indoctrination in Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.”

Saul Alinsky was a ruthless radical organizer. He would stop at nothing to win. Before he passed away in 1972 he published a book called “Rules for Radicals” in which he outlined his power tactics and questionable ethics.

Anyone interested in staying, or becoming, Union Free, whether in an organizing campaign or in a decertification or deauthorization election, ought to become familiar with these rules.

This can be very valuable information. As one expert observer points out “Rules for Radicals are reversible and can be used against the Left.”

Here’s a brief summary of the rules. We are indebted to the Public Service Research Foundation for this information.

Rules for Power Tactics:
1. Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.
2. Never go outside the experience of your people.
3. Whenever possible, go outside of the experience of the enemy.
4. Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.
5. Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.
6. A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.
7. A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.
8. Keep the pressure on with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose.
9. The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.
10. The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.
11. If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside.
12. The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.
13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

I think the best example we see over and over is the charge of Racism

Because Alinsky was sensitive to criticism that he wasn’t ethical, he also included a set of rules for the ethics of power tactics. You can see from these why his ethics were so frequently questioned.

Rules to test whether power tactics are ethical:
1. One’s concern with the ethics of means and ends varies inversely with one’s personal interest in the issue.
2. The judgment of the ethics of means is dependent upon the political position of those sitting in judgment.
3. In war the end justifies almost any means.
4. Judgment must be made in the context of the times in which the action occurred and not from any other chronological vantage point.
5. Concern with ethics increases with the number of means available and vice versa.
6. The less important the end to be desired, the more one can afford to engage in ethical evaluations of means.
7. Generally, success or failure is a mighty determinant of ethics.
8. The morality of means depends upon whether the means is being employed at a time of imminent defeat or imminent victory.
9. Any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition to be unethical.
10. You do what you can with what you have and clothe it in moral garments.
11. Goals must be phrased in general terms like “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity,” “Of the Common Welfare,” “Pursuit of Happiness,” or “Bread and Peace.”

Three Obama Failures in Oil – The Anti-Jobs President Strikes Again – Don’t Look for These in the State of the Union

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/01/24

Three separate, but co-mingled incidents recently happened that has left many scratching their heads in disbelief. All of these have the Obama Administration, or Obama’s fingerprints all over them. The first on is in Brazil. It was kind of funky that BO talked out of both sides of his mouth last year. While he closed the Gulf of Mexico to virtually all oil exploration, he encouraged Brazil to open deep water exploration and development of a new oil field in the Atlantic. He said at that time he would give Brazil $2Billion to help develop. (But there is some dispute about that) And he did say that the USA would be their No.1 customer. Well, we won’t be, Brazil signed a $10Billion deal with the Chinese to develop the field.

China gets jump on U.S. for Brazil’s oil
By Kelly Hearn – Special to The Washington Times

BUENOS AIRES — Off the coast of Rio de Janeiro — below a mile of water and two miles of shifting rock, sand and salt — is an ultradeep sea of oil that could turn Brazil into the world’s fourth-largest oil producer, behind Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

And this article: Obama’s Brazilian Oil Disaster

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=49008

————————————————————————————————————————
Then we go to No.2. Number two is the rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline by TransCanada to bring oil to southern refineries from Alberta. It was reject to appease the evironMENTALists and the Left because any other excuse makes no economic sense at all. Canada has more oil than it needs for its own population. They sell 90% of their exports to us. Since it appears BO has to support his Far Left Base, rejection was easy. What small environment issues could have bee worked out while constructing the pipeline. In the meantime, Canada may sell the oil to China (is there a theme here?)

Keystone XL pipeline proposal rejected — for now
TransCanada will apply again, CEO says
By Laura Payton, CBC News

The U.S. government has denied an application by TransCanada to build the Keystone XL pipeline, the State Department announced Wednesday.

A statement released by the department said it doesn’t preclude the Calgary-based TransCanada from applying again with a different route, and the company said in a press release that it will do just that.
Moron this story here:

———————————————————————————————————————–

And then No.3. Unofficially the unemployment rate is around 15% in spite of the alleged official rate of 8.5%. One state has the lowest unemployment rate at 2.5% and it is North Dakota. Why? The Bakken Oil Field. There is a giant oil BOOM in ND. At the oil fields, oil is extracted by Fracking which is injecting a fluid under high pressure to fracture the shale and release the oil. ND figures it need thousands of more workers for these fields. But, it’s BO to the rescue, not in a good way. His friends the EnvironMENTALists hate fracking. So, how does BO stop this success story, why the EPA of course.

EPA May Place Moratorium on Further Fracking Until 2013
Posted by Bakken Oil on Nov 30, 2011 in News

In a quite remarkable recent story in the Bismark Tribune, Lynn Helms the Director of the Department of Mineral Resources, stated be believes the EPA is on track to halt hydraulic fracturing as soon as January of 2012.

With billions of dollars, thousands of jobs, and over 200 rigs currently working in the area, this would be a monumental setback for the industry.

BO To Pipeline Jobs – Sell The Oil To China

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/01/18

BO says he wants jobs. Reality today – he doesn’t. BO said he likes good paying Union jobs. Guess what Unions, he doesn’t. BO wants to be re-elected, not when you give the ammo to say you’re anti-job. So all this talk of private jobs is HOT AIR from BO. This action tells me he hates people who work and he wants his Socialist plan of dependency.

Obama administration to reject Keystone pipeline
By Juliet Eilperin and Steven Mufson, Wednesday, January 18, 11:39 AM

The Obama administration will announce this afternoon it is rejecting a Canadian firm’s application for a permit to build and operate a massive oil pipeline across the U.S.-Canada border, according to sources who have been briefed on the matter.

Is There a Dime’s Worth of Difference???

Posted by Yorkshire on 2012/01/15

Is there really that much difference between BO and Mitt Romney? These are the Establishment choices, and it appears the Establishment does not care who wins. As Ron Smith late of WBAL Radio talk show host for years has always said there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the parties. And it looks like this year they will get their puppet nominees.

Hugo Chavez oops Obama Makes Alleged Recess Appointments

Hugo Chavez oops Obama Makes Alleged Recess Appointments
Posted by Yorkshire on 6 January 2012, 5:35 pm
President Hugo Chavez Obama has shredded the Constitution. This has been my greatest fear of this pseudo president.

Here are the pertinent portions of the Constitution which BO sees as a roadblock to his Fundamentally Change America. How’s the Hope and Change workin’ for ya?

Article I – The Legislative Branch
Section 5 – Membership, Rules, Journals, Adjournment
Neither House, during the Session of Congress, shall, without the Consent of the other, adjourn for more than three days, nor to any other Place than that in which the two Houses shall be sitting.

The Senate and the House have come in every three days to have a Pro-Forma meeting. Therefore, it appears that Constitutionally they were never in recess

Article II – The Executive Branch
Section 2 – Civilian Power over Military, Cabinet, Pardon Power, Appointments
The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.

If the Senate was in Recess this could happen, but the Senate never recessed.

BO has sworn to uphold the Constitution. This appears clearly to be a violation of the Constitution. If nothing is done, BO has usurped the Constitution with Impunity.

But when BO was Senator BO, he backed the use of Pro-Forma sessions to Block any recess appointment by then President Bush. Seems like BO wants it both ways and the middle.

But an article in “The Hill” confirms BO’s approval of the use of Pro Forma Sessions to say the Senate was not in recess
Reid backs Obama after using pro forma sessions to block Bush
By Peter Schroeder – 01/04/12 12:13 PM ET

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who previously held pro forma sessions to block recess appointments by President George W. Bush, said Wednesday he supported President Obama’s decision to ignore those sessions to push through one of his key nominees.

“I support President Obama’s decision,” he said in a statement.

The White House announced Wednesday that Obama planned to recess appoint Richard Cordray to be director of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). However, Republicans immediately cried foul about the move. They argue that because the holiday break has been broken up by brief pro forma sessions, the Senate is not in recess and the appointment is illegitimate.

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the novel move “arrogantly circumvented the American people.”

The rest of the article is here:

Will he cancel the 2012 elections next?

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Il, 69, Has Died

Posted by Yorkshire on 18 December 2011, 10:33 pm

SEOUL, South Korea – DEVELOPING: Kim Jong Il, North Korea’s mercurial and enigmatic leader, has died. He was 69.

Kim’s death was announced Monday by state television from the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.

Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in 2008 but appeared relatively vigorous in photos and video from recent trips to China and Russia and in numerous trips around the country carefully documented by state media.

The leader, reputed to have had a taste for cigars, cognac and gourmet cuisine, was believed to have had diabetes and heart disease.

The news came as North Korea prepared for a hereditary succession. Kim Jong Il inherited power after his father, revered North Korean founder Kim Il Sung, died in 1994.

In September 2010, Kim Jong Il unveiled his third son, the twenty-something Kim Jong Un, as his successor, putting him in high-ranking posts.
